Ice Rink
Big Bear Ice Arena
Denver, CO
About
Big Bear Ice Arena is an ice rink in Denver's Lowry neighborhood with public skating, freestyle sessions for figure skaters, stick and puck, drop-in hockey for adults, and pond hockey. Its Learn to Skate program runs six-week sessions of 30-minute group lessons for skaters of all ages, with Monday, Saturday, and Sunday class times and rental skates included. Skaters ready for more can join Mile High Aspire, a Sunday group program for Basic 4 and above that works on jumps, spins, skating skills, conditioning, and performance. Hockey offerings include 8U and youth Learn to Play classes, Adult Learn to Play Hockey, and an adult league. Families should know that a $10 yearly membership lets skaters reserve sessions online at lower prices. The rink also hosts birthday parties and a certification course for ice resurfacer operators.
