Carlston Ice Arena

About

Carlston Ice Arena is the community ice rink at the Lafayette YMCA, run by the YMCA of Northern Colorado. The rink describes itself as a welcoming place for skaters of every age and ability, from young beginners to adult hockey players. Public skating sessions are open to Y members and non-members, with rental skates available. The progressive Learn to Skate program serves all ages, and figure skaters at level 5 and above can use drop-in freestyle ice to work on jumps, spins, and edges. A figures class teaches precise edge control through circular patterns. Hockey options include stick and puck, adult drop-in, adult leagues, Mile High Mites with the Colorado Avalanche, learn-to-play, camps, clinics, and the Lafayette Locomotive youth club. Drop-in skate conditioning classes add strength and cardio work on the ice.
