About
Dobson Arena is the Vail Recreation District's ice arena in Lionshead Village, reopening in November 2026 after an extensive renovation that added modern amenities and improved accessibility. The arena hosts public skating, stick and puck, toddler skate time, adult hockey leagues, the Vail Yeti, concerts, and community events. Youth hockey programs include Mini Mites and Mites Learn to Play, Girls Intro to Hockey for ages 9 and up, and the Colorado Avalanche Mile High Mites program, which includes a full set of equipment to keep. Learn to Skate classes are scheduled to begin in January 2027, and private lessons are listed among the district's offerings. Figure skating is offered through the Skating Club of Vail, which runs recreational and competitive programs at the rink. Parking is at the nearby Lionshead structure.
