Fort Collins Fire Crystals

About

The Fire Crystals are the synchronized skating teams of the Fort Collins Figure Skating Club, training at the Edora Pool Ice Center in Fort Collins. Coaches Linda Howes and Pamela Kurtz founded the program at EPIC in 1989, and it focuses on life skills on and off the ice. Teams compete at U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned events, including sectionals, and raise funds throughout the year for training, travel, competition dresses, and ice time. The program has an Aspire youth team for skaters in group Learn to Skate classes, a competitive travel team for skaters who have passed at least the Pre-Preliminary skating skills test, and two adult teams open to all skill levels. Team photos posted for 2026 to 2027 show Aspire 1, Aspire 3, and Open Juvenile teams. Interested skaters can submit a youth or adult interest form.
