Ice Theatre of the Rockies
Highlands Ranch, CO
About
Ice Theatre of the Rockies is the Theatre on Ice program of the Denver Colorado Figure Skating Club in Highlands Ranch. Theatre on Ice teams of eight to thirty skaters tell a story together through a free skate and a choreographic exercise, judged on technical merit and presentation with weight on originality, costuming, artistry, and musicality. The program lists national medals from U.S. Figure Skating's National Theatre On Ice in 2019, 2022, and 2023, plus gold and silver at the 2021 ISI Worlds. Team placement comes from auditions, skating skill test levels, and teamwork, and the 2026 to 2027 season is underway. Younger skaters can start with Intro to Theatre on Ice, an eight to nine week Saturday class for Learn to Skate students at Level 4 or above. Gerry Lane serves as managing director, with Jamie Lane Youtsey and Phoebe Flynn as creative directors.
