Sertich Ice Center

About

Sertich Ice Center is a city-run ice rink on the northeast corner of Memorial Park in Colorado Springs, operated by the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services department. Built in 1975 as the Memorial Park Ice Center, it was later renamed for Mark 'Pa' Sertich, a longtime handyman beloved by local skaters. The 35,000 square foot building has an NHL-size sheet and bleacher seating for up to 2,000, and it operates year-round. Programs include public skating with monthly unlimited passes, Learn to Skate USA classes for children and adults, youth hockey skating lessons, drop-in hockey, and figure skating sessions. Figure sessions are generally for skaters at Basic 4 and above, while Basic Skills freestyle sessions serve newer skaters through Free Skate 6. The rink also hosts parties, group outings, and outside organizations.
