About
Steamboat Skating Club is a nonprofit figure skating club serving skaters at Howelsen Ice Arena in Steamboat Springs. It was founded in 1994 as the Steamboat Springs Figure Skating Club. In the early 2000s the rink was home to the club's Team Volant synchronized skating team. The club's school season program, which runs from August 23, 2026 through May 24, 2027, groups skaters by level from Intro to Figure Skating and Basic 4 through Basic 6, Aspire 1 to 4, and Pre-Preliminary to Bronze (Juvenile), with 20-minute group lessons and some sessions alternating on and off the ice. Skaters must first pass a Basic 3 Learn to Skate program. The club also runs summer skating, winter and spring ice shows, and a Fright Night skate.
